ARC Engage empowers faculty to positively impact our community, build applied research capacity at the College, and give meaningful experiential learning opportunities to our students. Through ARC Engage, faculty can receive paid secondments (up to two sections of teaching release within a maximum of 12 months) and appropriate funding for student researchers and operational needs. This support allows faculty to pursue: Writing a proposal for a major external grant; Executing a defined applied research project, such that a researcher builds capacity and a relationship with a partnering organization.
Applicants for ARC Engage awards must identify partnering organizations in the community external to the College that commit to supporting the proposed research initiative and to implementing the outcome. Eligible partners include for-profit companies as well as not-for-profit organizations, municipalities, hospitals, and First Nations.
