This archival research project continued the search for Coqualeetza Indian hospital records from 1941 to 1969. Archival records have limited exploration or formal documentation so very little is known about who attended the hospital or what happened to them. My research focused on the history of Secwepemc people at Coqualeetza, including my mother, who attended the hospital as a TB patient. It is important to uncover the connections between Residential Schools and Indian hospitals to support reconciliation, and healing of Indigenous peoples in BC.
